Preparing for Christmas market in Bad Tölz
German Christmas markets are legendary for their romantic atmosphere. Concerning this, one of the best to visit, is the Christmas market in Bad Tölz, a historic Bavarian small town with a beautiful scenery.
I´m very lucky to have the opportunity to hold workshops in the "Handwerkerhütte" on this years Christmas market in Bad Tölz!
From December 5th to 6th and 12th to 16th between 11:00 and 19:00 everyone can come in and see how lino cutting and lino printing works. As a plus, visitors can print their own Christmas cards and art pieces from my pre-cut printing blocks.
Besides that you can chat with me and have a hot cup of Glühwein, while flipping through handmade Christmas decoration and hand printed cards!
Additionally I offer never seen linocut-and-printing-packs, including plenty of templates, a gorgeous instruction manual and a complete set of printing colors.
So get yourself up and head to the "Handwerkerhütte" at the Christmas market Bad Tölz on December 5th to 6th and 12th to 16th between 11:00 and 19:00! See you there!

Explained: works series "Roots"
To get a new impulse to my work, I needed distance to the abstract acrylic painting which I practiced in recent years. With this series of works I went back to the roots of my inspiration and to the roots of me being an creating artist.
The roots of my ideas
I´ve always been curious about the unpredictable and unknown - interactions, reactions, the dynamic within and the traces that are left. It is an inexaustible source of inspiration.
The roots of my visualisation
The first materials I used to create works that I labeled "art" were paper and ink. I resurrected these materials and fused it with the controlled fortuity and decisive randomness of my abstract works.
The roots of existence
The four elements are represented by colours:
Blue and Red representing AIR/Space, meaning the stardust we all are created of.
Blue and Green representing WATER, where life on earth started.
Black and White representing SOIL, which feeds life on earth.
Yellow representing FIRE, the energy for the initial life creating impact.
The roots of appearance
I blew liquid ink over the paper. White space is left out. I consciously placed the initial portion of liquid, controlled the direction and speed of flow but left most of the "creating" to chance.
The grained structure of the organic forms repeatedly appear in nature. Maybe that is the reason why the works instantly address everyone, either through fascination or denial.

Outdoor exibition TölzKunst3
Last Sunday, 17th of July 2016, the third #ArtGardening, an outdoor art exibition named #TölzKunst3, organised by the #KunstvereinTölzerland, took place in the beautiful surrounding of the floodplains of the river Isar in Bad Tölz.
Local artists, including me, took the chance to present, explain and sell their works to the masses of people randomly passing by on their Sunday walk.
I showed my newest painting series named "Roots / Wurzeln", 15 ink works on paper. Beneath of that, on my booth the passersby could make themselves a print of my pre-cut postcard lino plates. A lot of people participated and, as most of them haven´t done lino-printing since school days, I gave assistance. It was great fun for all!

It was a great day, filled with art, talk and lino-printing. I´ll be surely presenting my new works there next year again!
The next day there were several articles about this event in local newspapers, one of them even featuring me.
