Hausberge: Winter drawings

Two more motives from my recent drawing series 'Hausberge' that will be available on #Kräuterzauber Festival in #BadHeilbrunn at booth 82 on 20th June 2015.

Both drawings have been produced in a series of four, every piece is a bit different.

New painting finished

'Scotland', mixed media on canvas, 140 x 175 cm, Rainer Schmitten 2015

A friend asked me to do a painting for him after having seen one of my abstracts in the studio.

The result is my very personal view on the story of his life since I know him.

Going back to where he comes from, the colors and structures are inspired by the UK's coastline, his way to Germany - caused by love, a broken and a evolving relationship, resulting in the birth of new life.

Meet me on the Kräuterzauber festival in Bad Heilbrunn

Bad Heilbrunn is a thriving sanitarium in southern Bavaria, Germany, and proud of its herb-related economy, culture and it's main tourist attraction (beneath the beautiful scenery), a huge herbal park.

This year, for the first time, the guest office is organizing a one day art, food and herbal festival with market on Saturday 20th June 2015 from 10:00 to 20:00 named "Kräuterzauber" in the herbal park. Over 80 booths and stages will be there, offering food, arts, handcrafts, music, acrobats and performing artists.
